Only buy sustainably sourced timber or timber products such as wooden furniture. Extracted timber which is for sale on the European, US and Japanese markets is one the main reasons for rainforests loss and deforestation.  

Save energy and fuel. The extraction of fuels and their burning are causing pollution which affects the world’s climate. Much of the world’s fossil fuels such as oil come from the rainforest where mining and drilling destroy wildlife and habitats. 

Use locally sourced products and services in order to support the local economy and avoid the wasteful use of fuels for transport.

For international goods such as coffee and handicrafts buy only fair trade products which take into account the sustainable development of local communities.

Do not buy or keep exotic pets. 

Contact government bodies and media and ask for global environmental issues to become a priority in decision making.
